Personal Statement
Resourceful. Innovative. Happy.
I come to your organization with over eight years of relevant professional and lived experience, a background in Cultural Anthropology, and a fierce fight for social equity.
My degree in Cultural Anthropology can be summarized with this contemplation; identity- of the self and perceived, place, and cultural history, shape each of our roles in structural systems of oppression. Systems that will need to be dismantled in order to nurture a culture of true equity.
But what it didn’t offer was a path forward. I was left with the deep and raw truth of the injustices of our world, but did not know how to contribute professionally to a solution. Joining a community justice centered organization, would be that path forward.
In my current role as a creative project manager I work collaboratively with clients creating digital spaces that reflect and amplify the client’s brand through implementation of best marketing practices that support profit growth. My work includes, but is not limited to; client relationship development, identifying potential up-sells for account management, stakeholder collaboration, SEO optimized content development, WordPress design, full lifecycle email marketing campaigns, and time management.
My most recent passion project was a freelance job with NY TIMES best selling-author, domestic abuse advocate, and public speaker, Stephanie Land. We worked one-on-one to rebrand and design a multi functional website that serves as a branding platform for her literary works, event promotion, and as a resource hub for domestic abuse survivors. I successfully managed and implemented the full lifecycle of her vision from design inception to technical set up and launch.
I have the grit, communication skills, and experience that I know will be an asset to your team. I thrive in fast-paced environments, I show up on time, and am fiercely committed personally and professionally to elevating social equity through relationship based work. I am excited to have an opportunity to continue developing and learning from an experienced organization on the forefront of community centered justice.
I appreciate your time and consideration in reviewing me for this position.
Sincerely,
Emily Plumb
